Our Story

You may know Memphis as the home of the Blues or the birthplace of Rock and Roll. You may also know that our city was the site of one of the greatest tragedies in history, the assassination of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. on April 4, 1968.

Dr. King spent his life working to make the world a better place, yet, today, we are still far from the place he dreamed we could be. Dr. King said that “love is the key to the problems of the world.” We in Memphis are taking that to heart. Every week this year, we will share with you a story of love from Memphis. We ask you to watch, love, work. Watch the films, allow them to open your heart, share them with others, and add your own stories of love. Then, let’s watch love work. Let’s see what happens when we overwhelm the world with love in memory of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.
